It started in Cham, Bavaria.

Brigitte Weiss was a gallerist and curator in Cham, a small town in eastern Bavaria near the Czech border. For decades she exhibited, supported and collected artists.

The Cordonhaus, Cham's municipal gallery, showed the painters of Gruppe SPUR, a rebellious Munich artists' group founded in 1957, alongside their circle and many artists from the region. Her collection grew out of this work.

This collection is the first inventory of Artloved. We call it the founding collection. Every work states where it comes from: Collection Brigitte Weiss, Cham.

A profile for every artist.

If you buy a work, you should know who made it. Each of the 72 artists in the founding collection gets a profile: life, groups, exhibitions, museums and market. Every fact has a source.

Inherited or collected art?

The founding collection spent years in storage too. We know the questions: What is it? What is it worth? Who wants it?
