Paintings on the move
The three met at the Munich Academy in 1968 and founded the group in Munich and Frankfurt. Because Zierold lives in Frankfurt, the canvases travel back and forth between the two cities.
The group sees itself in the line of the Munich groups SPUR, WIR, GEFLECHT and Kollektiv Herzogstrasse.
Films, objects, picture texts
Art films have accompanied the painting from the start; the earliest on record dates from 1979. There are also small sculptures, prints and "Lesebilder", prints annotated with texts.
In Cham and in museums
In 1997 the group took part in the exhibition "Heim und Welt" (Home and World) at the Cordonhaus in Cham. In 2019 the Galerie der Künstler in Munich followed with "40 Jahre King Kong Kunstkabinett". Their work is held by the Bavarian State Painting Collections and the Artothek of the City of Munich, among others.
